Sukkoth 2024. Sukkot for the year 2024 starts on the evening of wednesday, october 16th ending the 7 day festival on sundown wednesday, october 23rd. Sukkot, or “the feast of tabernacles,” is the third major jewish holiday in the month of tishrei, the first two being rosh hashanah and yom.

After dark, women and girls light candles—preferably in the sukkah —for the second day of sukkot, using an existing flame. The seven days of sukkot—celebrated by dwelling in the sukkah, taking the four kinds, and rejoicing—are followed by shemini atzeret/simchat.
